HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID :) When I woke up this morning I could see the Turkish coastline which is approx 40 miles away. Paul, our IT guru, came round later and we worked on the web page whilst Michele made lemon curd for Hassan.
Late afternoon we went for a drive, I suddenly stopped when I saw something in the middle of the road, at first I thought it was a kids toy as it was completely still. However it was a chameleon, we left the car where it was and stayed until it moved very slowly to safety in someone's garden.
Luckily my camera was at hand to take these pictures. Note how it changes its colour to blend into the environment it moves to.
Not a good nights sleep, Michele's headache wouldn't go away gave her a couple of paracetamols before I left for the golf. Today was the Pegasos Trophy at the golf club followed by free drinks and barbeque at the Pegasos at 3pm. Thank you Veli (owner of the Pegasos). I thought I would get a result today but was 6 over after 4 holes pulled back though and finished with a net 70 went up due to that now playing off 13
I returned home to shower and collect Michele with the intentions of spending the afternoon at the Pegasos but discovered that the headaches she had last night was the early signs of the virus that is doing the rounds. I had it about 5 weeks ago. She was really quite bad and could not get out of bed. I went up to the Pegasos and stayed for about 30 mins before returning home
Played golf today, no, not Rev but some of the other guys, about 10 of us, we threw in 5 million TL each about £2 I got beat on a count back and had to hand over the winnings. Back home Michele still in bed. Not much you can do when someone has this virus, best thing is just to make them stay in bed, mind you that's all they want to do anyway
Played golf with Rev, we have decided to play match play from now on, get us more competitive, the lucky beggar beat me at the last. We both played really well. I returned home to find Michele not yet better but wanting to go for a drive, I thinks she is getting bored with bed.
We went for a drive north on the new coast road, you can only get so far but each couple of days they open up another stretch. Today we got as far as the turn off for Kaplica on the left or right to Gecitkale we decided on Kaplica there were lovely little deserted beaches on the way and we always carry our swimming kit in the car,Michele was keen to have a swim, however I didn't think she was well enough yet. In Kaplica all the village women were waiting with buckets outside the mosque for the milkman to deliver his pinta's
When we got home it was straight to bed for Michele I hope the trip out would not hinder her recovery
Michele a little better today, so we think a little fresh air again, we visited the police HQ in Girne to start our application for temporary residency. They looked at our passports and gave us a note to take to the hospital where we would get an appointment for HIV tests. The policeman told us he thought there were too many English coming over and it is affecting the utilities such as water and electric, saying it cannot cope with the demand, however the government are currently looking at ways to slow down the input of foreigners so we will see what happens. Michele getting a little shaky so we returned home, the hospital can wait till a later date
Leaving Michele at home I went to our friends Colin and Linda's site in Lapta to take pictures of anything that may have happened on their plot, not a lot, I will mail him the pic later
I have been preparing all my own food whilst Michele has been unwell, you know the score, crisps biscuits anything that you can eat without cooking so I decided to night I would drive down to Ezic (only a 2 min drive)and get a take away take away, chicken, chips, salad, rice, 2 rolls and a bottle of beer. I think I was ripped off it cost me £3.17 (LOL)
